Bloody Scotland – 3 Days To Go!

This weekend is the highlight of the year in all Tartan Noir calendars.  Scotland’s original crime writing festival is back in Stirling and I am beyond excited to be attending again this year.  With serious crime fiction heavyweights like Mark Billingham, Chris Brookmyre, Martina Cole, Nicci French, Stuart MacBride, Ian Rankin and the Queen of Crime herself Val McDermid all making an appearance, this year’s line up is guaranteed to delight both readers and writers.

Upcoming Events 2016

The events I have been lucky enough to get tickets for are:

Talking to the Dead – author Alex Gray is hosting a chat with two real life Forensic Pathologists, Dr James Grieve who features as himself in Ann Cleeves’ Shetland series on TV, and Dr Marjorie Turner who is the inspiration behind Dr Rosie Fergusson in Alex Gray’s Lorimer novels.

Mark Billingham and Peter Robinson – The author of the hugely successful Tom Thorne series teams up with the creator of long running DCI Banks novels (now a major ITV Drama) to discuss the secrets of their long-established successes.

Val McDermid – The Queen of Crime and celebrated best-selling author, who is my personal favourite.  Val will take centre stage to discuss her latest release “Out of Bounds”  and share her expert knowledge of forensic psychology and forensic pathology.  The event is a must for any crime fan!

Nicci French – Bestselling husband and wife team Nicci Gerrard and Sean French have sold a staggering 8 million novels worldwide under their Nicci French pseudonym.  They will be discussing their most recent novel in the pyschotherapist Freida Klein series ” Saturday Requiem”
